Winter is coming to an end, and your garden is starting to come to life again!
This is a very important time of year if you have a garden, in the coming months let me:
Prune shrubs that have been flowering through winter - this allows for any dead or diseased wood to be removed
Finish cutting back ornamental grasses and perennials, and then maybe divide them - gives space for new growth to appear, dividing improves the plants vigour
Top dress pots and tubs, and feed beds and borders - the nutrients in compost only last 6 weeks, feeding helps growth, flowering, fruiting etc
Keep weeds under control - weeds provide unwanted competition for space and nutrition for your chosen plants
Mow the lawn, and keep the edges tidy and straight - grass is often the most common plant in a garden, it needs lookng after
Plant summer flowering bulbs - add some exotic blooms into your borders
Introduce some new plants and shrubs to liven up your garden
Use an industry professional, I have worked as a gardener for The Crown Estate, Tottenham Hotspur FC, and Hestercombe Garden
